2017 Oak Creek No Fun Run
What: Located in the sleepy town of Oak Creek, 30 minutes south of Steamboat Springs, the Oak Creek No Fun Run is held on the morning of Labor Day. Revived in 2013, this race is one of many activities during the three-day long Oak Creek Labor Day celebration. The route winds through town and includes many hills, hence the "No Fun Run" moniker. The 3.5M and 7M courses are a combination of paved roads, dirt roads, trails & wood/concrete steps. Both races start and finish at the Oak Creek Town Hall. Given the race start time (10 am) and parade start time (11 am), walkers are encouraged to enter the 3.5M event and runners who can't run 7M in under an hour are also encouraged to run the 3.5M race or risk missing out on the parade. There are no aid stations on either course, so please bring your own water device to carry or wear during the event.
When: Monday September 4th, 2017 - 3.5M and 7M races both begin at 10:00 am. Labor Day Parade to follow at 11:00 am.

Turn right onto Bell Ave. (US Post Office on the Corner) and the race begins on the corner of Bell Ave. and Nancy Crawford Blvd. (two blocks south of Main St (Hwy 131)).
Course Descriptions: Both races start and finish at the Oak Creek Town Hall. The 3.5M course is a challenging loop with 9 uphill sections of varying length and difficulty. The 7M race peels off of the 3.5M course for an out and back section on County Road 25, and then rejoins the 3.5M course to the finish line. The race offers a great tour of Oak Creek and finishes down Main Street just before the start of the parade at 11 am. There are no aid stations on the course.
Pets: Pets are welcome on the course however they must be leashed at all times. Just like human participants, run at your own risk. Public streets and alleyways will be open to traffic during the race.
