The following races will be pointed in the 2010 Steamboat Springs Running Series:

• Spirit Challenge: 5K
• Steamboat Marathon: 26.2
• Hayden Cog Run: 8M
• Mountain Madness: 10K
• Spring Creek: 9M
• Howelson Hill: 8M
• Mt Werner: 12M
• Continental Divide: 16M
• 10K@10,0000 ft: 10K
• Emerald Mountain Trail Run: 7M

Points are given out as follows:

Overall Points

• Overall male & female 1st place finishers receive 10 points
• Overall male & female 2nd place finishers receive 9 points 
• Overall male & female 3rd place finishers receive 8 points
• ...and so on, until we reach zero.
  

PLUS...

Age group points

• First place finish = 10 points
• Second place finish = 8 points
• Third place finish = 6 points
• Fourth place finish = 4 points
• Fifth place finish = 2 points

(Age groups are 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+)

These points accumulate up through the 12th race. Very cool prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place overall Series champions. The Series award presentation takes place after the final race of the Series.

A tie breaker is the runner who ran more races in the Series.

Awards are given to the top three overall male and female winners of the Series.
