24th Annual 10,000 Meters at 10,000 Feet

What: A Challenging trail run with some beautiful terrain and breathtaking scenery.... this race is a Steamboat classic! The 10K race begins at 10,000 ft at the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass first heading uphill on USFS dirt roads and 2 track, the race then heads downhill on single-track, and ends on a cross country single-track, Total elevation gain and loss are about ~1,200 feet each. This race although listed as a 10K is about 6.8 miles. The 10k has 1 aid station at about 3.4 miles and the 5k does not have an aid station so we HIGHLY recommend carrying your own water.

When: The 10K @ 10,000 ft. is run on Rabbit Ears Pass covering both single track and rustic mountain roads for an amazing trail run. This race is run on Sunday, September 5th, 2010 at 10:00 AM, and if you plan to walk the course the walk will begin at 10:05 AM. 5K also offered.

Where: The summit of the old Rabbit Ears Pass Road. Take the Dumont Lake Road to the Rabbit Ears Monument and parking area.

Directions ( from Steamboat Springs): Head out of Steamboat east on Hwy 40 heading towards Rabbit Ears Pass, you will travel about 18 miles until the pass flattens out a bit and you see a sign for Dumont Lake on your left, take that left hand turn. Continue to follow the road around past the campground to a dirt parking area with a monument statue on your left, turn in and your here!

Please no dogs allowed in the race. 

Registration: Pre-register online or at Ski Haus in Steamboat Springs.  Day-of registration if available will be held between 9:00 - 9:30 am.  Register early to ensure an entry gift and please remember that post race food is for runners and volunteers only. Bib pick up will be at the start of the race.

What you receive: T-shirt guaranteed for the first 150 registered racers, great food from Freshie's, prizes for 1-3 M & F and raffle entry for extra prizes.
