This race is sure to please off-road runners from all walks of life. 

Distance: ~15 mile trail run

Shuttle to Fish Creek for Race Start:
Meet at 7:00am at the Knoll Parking Lot on Mt. Werner Circle. The shuttle will take you to the start. The race finishes at Thunderhead and all runners can download the Gondola to the base, then it's just a short walk to your car. There will be a clothing drop at the start that will be at the end.

Race Date/Time: Sunday August 22, 2010. This race begins promptly at 8:00am!

Location: Fish Creek Falls Parking Area at the top of Fish Creek Falls Road

Registration: This race is capped at 125 runners: Pre-register online or at Ski Haus located at Hwy 40 & Pine Grove Rd. There is NO race day registration for this event.  Register early to ensure an entry gift and please remember that post race food is for runners and volunteers only. This race is challenging and not a beginners trail race with over 3500 feet of elevation gain. The safety of our runners is our number 1 concern, due to popularity of this race and the remoteness of parts of the trail system we will be enforcing a 4 hour rule. 4 hours will be the cut off time for course support and to receive an official time to count towards the running series. In other words be prepared and enjoy the beautiful trails!!

Course Description(s):
This trail running race begins at the Fish Creek Falls parking lot at the top of Fish Creek Falls Road. From here runners will follow the Fish Creek trail, turning right off onto the Mountain View Trail before actually reaching Long Lake. Runners will then cross the Mountain View Trail ending up at the summit of Mt. Werner (and the Steamboat Ski Area). Next you will follow trails down the mountain to the top of the gondola. After a post race prize drawing, runners can take the gondola down for free. The total distance on this race is ~15 Miles of beautiful trails. This race is also part of the Trail Runner magazine national Trophy Series. The 15 mile course climbs a total of 4,800 ft and descends 3,200 feet.

Aid Stations: 2: The 1st aid is at the trail intersection of Fish Creek Falls Trail and the Mountain View Trail. Mountain View Trail takes you over to the top of Mount Werner. The second aid station is at the top of Mount Werner. Runners should carry a hydration device for water and some Honey Stinger (which will be provided at the race) or other some type of energy food and maybe a shell in case the weather changes. Race will be run rain or shine...or snow.
