Distances: 10k (actually almost 11k or 6.8 miles) and 5k (actually 5.4k or 3.4 miles)

Location: Summit of the old Rabbit Ears Pass Road, Monument Parking lot

Start Times: 10k – 10:00 am, 5k – 10:05 am

Packet pick up: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Saturday September 5th at Ski Haus, 1457 Pine Grove Rd, Steamboat Springs, CO 80487 and on race day beginning at 9:00 AM at the start.

There is registration on race day from 9 to 9:45 am, but the number of runners will be limited by our US Forest Service permit.

Registration Fees:

10k:

18 & over: $40 ($45 after July 31, $50 on race day)

17 & under: $20 ($25 on race day)

5k:

18 & over: $25 ($30 after July 31, $35 on race day)

17 & under: $15 ($20 on race day)

Prices do not include RunSignup, USFS, City of Steamboat fees (when applicable)

T-Shirt: $20 (Not guaranteed to be available after August 15th.)

No Refunds: all Steamboat Springs Running Series races benefit local non-profit organizations.
COURSE INFORMATION

This is a challenging trail run with beautiful terrain and breathtaking scenery. The 10K race begins at 10,000 ft at the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass. The course begins by heading uphill on USFS dirt roads and 2 track, and then then heads downhill on single-track, ending on a cross country single-track. The total elevation gain and loss are about ~950 feet each.

Although this race is listed as a 10k, the actual distance comes out to 6.8 miles. We will have one aid station on the course about 3.4 miles in (the 5k race option does not have an aid station). We HIGHLY recommend that you bring your own water.

Driving Directions/Parking Information (from Steamboat Springs):

Head out of Steamboat east on Hwy 40 heading towards Rabbit Ears Pass. You will travel about 18 miles until the pass flattens out a bit and you see a sign for Dumont Lake on your left. Take that left hand turn. Continue to follow the road past the campground to a dirt parking area with a monument statue on your left.
